Community Integrated Development Initiatives (CIDI) is a National NGO that coordinates and implements several projects in Uganda. CIDI works at the vanguard of community development focusing on four thematic areas; Water and sanitation promotion, Sustainable agriculture for food and incomes, Humanitarian work, Health promotion and Policy advocacy. CIDI, with branches across the country, works amongst the vulnerable communities in both rural and urban areas to improve their livelihoods.

 

Project Background

The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project is undertaking the construction of a heated, 24-inch pipeline intended to transport oil from Uganda to Tanzania for export. During project implementation, the Government of Uganda will permanently acquire a 30m wide strip of land for the pipeline corridor which will result in the loss of some land by 3,700 households.  This advert therefore serves to recruit local, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer, Human Resource (HR) Officer and Administration Assistants that will support the Livelihood Restoration Program for the affected Households.

 

 

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

1.     MONITORING AND EVALUATION (M&E) OFFICER  (01) FULL TIME

Support reporting, documents management, data collection and other areas that provide   evidence of work well done.

 

      1.1 Roles and Responsibilities

§  Prepare regular reports on project or program performance as per reporting schedule.

§  Document and communicate findings to LRC M&E personnel.

§  Ensure data quality and integrity in all reports.

§  Ensure compliance with M&E standards and guidelines as communicated by LRC.

§  Continuously improve and refine M&E processes.

§  Implement data privacy and security measures.

§  Attend M&E update meetings as required

 

 

1.2     Minimum Qualifications and Skills

§  Bachelors or master's degree in a relevant field, such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.

§  Strong analytical and data management skills.

§  Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Excel, or statistical tools).

§  Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.

§  Knowledge of M&E methodologies, tools, and best practices.

§  Experience with survey design and data collection techniques.

§  Familiarity with project management principles.

§  Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

§  Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

§  Understanding of relevant sector-specific knowledge (e.g., public health, development, education, etc.).

§  Knowledge of database management systems and data visualization tools is a plus.

§  Willingness to travel and work in rural areas.

§  Computer certifications and proficiency is a must.

2.     HUMAN RESOURCE (HR) OFFICER (01) FULL TIME

 

2.1.         Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Follow up on staff performance on a daily basis.
  • Monitor any misbehaviors of any staffs or contractors
  • Make monthly reports on staff and contractors behavior
  • Follow up on any complaints reported and give instant feed back
  • Prepare minutes for any meeting held in regard to sorting staff or contractors issues and share with management
  • Maintain records of staff attendance and monitor HRM activities and manage official information with high level of confidentiality.

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management or any related field

3      ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS (04) FULL TIME

 

Full time in the District offices to receive and document PAP (Project Affected Persons) concerns any other Program visitors (EACOP, ASIGMA, PAU (Petroleum Authority Uganda, MOE e.t.c)

 

3.1.          Roles and Responsibilities

 

§  Receive and document PAP (Project Affected Persons) concerns any other Program visitors (EACOP, ASIGMA, PAU (Petroleum Authority Uganda

§  Provide logistics and administration support to the project in the respective Field Office.

§  Screen incoming telephone calls, mails, inquiries, and requests and handling them as appropriate, including relaying accurate and timely messages and answering of queries.

§  Managing a filing system for record control of key documents in respective field office.

§  Support in maintaining inventory and preparing requisitions for office supplies and equipment’s on a monthly basis.

§  Secretarial support such as timely printing, photocopying and binding of documents to be used under the project.

§  Ensure that the office is kept tidy and clean through regular supervision of the cleaner.

DUTY STATION: SOROTI AND RAKAI/ KYOTERA

 

Key Result Area:

a.     Developing and maintaining good financial discipline in financial management and accountability of the CIDI operations.

b.     Planning and producing budgets to the organization and advising CIDI management and on budget implications.

c.     Making pay rolls and checking all payments before authorization for payments.

d.     Ensure that all requisition procedures are followed and according to specified budget lines at all times.

e.     Apply your computerized accounting knowledge to keep all project and organizational accounts and be able to retrieve reports any time they are demanded.

f.      Ensure that all books of accounts are properly recorded and kept up to date and that all accountabilities and back up documents for expenditures of all monies are properly filed. All monies expended in all projects must be fully accounted.

g.     Compiling and consolidating the financial reports of the projects and be responsible for Financial Audits.

h.     Conduct periodic monitoring visits to the field and ensure value for money.

i.      Ensure transparency and accountability in the use of program funds.

j.      Keeping a register of all organizations assets in the branch.

k.     Participate in ongoing fundraising activities of the organization through writing proposals or any other activities that you may from time to time be called upon to participate.

l.      Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by CIDI. Authorized management for furtherance of organizational goals.

 


Essential skills and Requirements:

·       Highly professional and ethical behavior and conduct when dealing with official work.

·       Computer knowledge and skills on word, excel, power point with good typing speed is a must coupled with documentation skills.

·       Maintenance of confidentiality at all times.

·       Knowledge of office management and supervision, including office practices, procedures and equipment.

·       Ability to plan, install, review, refine and maintain office systems and practices.

·       Ability to assign, supervises, and review work of subordinates.

·       Willingness to work/ relocate to any office and to work long hours with minimum supervision and take on extra duties.

·       Good interpersonal relationship with all CIDI clients and staffs at all times.

 


Qualifications and Experience:

·       Bachelor in Degree in Accounting, commerce, or Business Administration with accounting option or equivalent qualification from reputable and credible University/institution.

·       Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting.

·       MUST have COMPLETED ACCA/CPA.

·       Good financial management & accounting skills.

·       At least 4-5 years experience in handling donor funds and office administration.

·       Excellent organizational skills and ability to determine priorities and meet multiple deadlines.

·       Must have good working knowledge of modern computer applications, computerized accounting software & emails/internet skills

JOB SUMMARY

The M&E and Documentation officer is responsible for guiding the visibility and knowledge management strategy and implementation of M&E related activities plus providing timely and relevant information to the stakeholders within CIDI but based in Buliisa, Field Office.

DOCUMENTATION ROLES

1.       Developing and managing publications that demonstrate CIDI‘s results for visibility in form of; Newsletters, Brochures, Reports, success stories, Video stories, IECs etc

2.       Knowledge gathering and packaging: Identifying sources of information, packaging it and establishing platforms for learning

3.       Retrieving data from the CIDI Management information system(MIS), analyzing, interpreting and packaging it into information

4.       Routine update of CIDI website content material and supporting the CIDI communication unit in dissemination

5.       Take part in conducting filed monitoring visits to the various projects and compilation of field monitoring reports

6.       Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by CIDI Executive Director or his assignees for furtherance of organizational goals.


M & E ROLES

  1. Ensure that an effective and participatory M&E system is established in a decentralized manner as is possible and is effective.
  2. Data collection, entry, processing and analysis and also ensuring that quality reports are produced.
  3. Producing periodic monthly, quarterly and any other reports as may be required from time to time.
  4. Manage on a day today basis the CIDI MIS system and ensure that it’s operationalized in all CIDI offices.
  5. Make sure the business of the projects is conducted in an efficient manner by supervising and monitoring project implementation. Ensure that timely decisions on corrective actions are made and implemented.
  6. Projects and Following up progress of work plans of various activities visa vis the set targets- to ensure they are being achieved on time. This goes with ensuring that project managers are up to date with their project reports with donors.
  7. Communicate any serious findings or those needing urgent action immediately to the Executive Director even before the time of the formal report.
  8. You may schedule and conduct any monitoring review meeting/seminar/enquiry with any of the offices/staffs of CIDI upon notification of the Programs Coordinator where necessary.
  9. Participate in ongoing fundraising activities of the organization through proposal and other means that may be identified form time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mass communication, or Social sciences. Any post graduate training in Monitoring & Evaluation is an added advantage

1.      WASH PROJECT OFFICER (01) POST

DUTY STATION: NAKAPIRIPIRIT FIELD OFFICE:

Key Result Areas:

·         Plan and coordinate the implementation of all WASH activities including managing construction worksas per set terms of contract.

·         Conduct regular monitoring field visits of the all WASH activities including project sites; planned and ongoing activities.

·         Develop projects reports using the appropriate tools and templates.

·         Establish and maintain cordial and professional relations with local partners and collaborators includingdistrict and sub county local government officials.

·         Identifying and documenting of best practices in implementation of WASH interventions.

·         Conduct community mobilization and sensitization on WASH activities.

·         Under take training of target communities on CLTS including training of community hygiene promoters on aspects of   CLTS.

·         Liaise with beneficiary community and local authorities in the selection of project sites as per requirement of the project design.

·         Represent the organization and actively participate in District level WASH Planning and coordination meetings.

·         Participate in the development of project proposals

Information, Education and Communication messages will be used and these will be in form of posters and other messages will be branded on T-shirts. A vehicle will also be hired to transport the IEC materials and the T-shirts procured;
Detail/ specifications of the T-shirts;
•The total number of T-shirts will be 460.
•The T-shirts will all be Round neck.
•They will bear logos of RTI, USAID, CIDI and a back Message for theme of ‘stopping corporal punishments’.

Responsible for duties relating to coordinating all procurement activities in the organization,

6.Organize and carryout procurement meetings as per the guidelines of CIDI Procurement Manual.

8.Prepare annual/quarterly, semi-annual, procurement plans and procurement budgets.
9.Ensure timely delivery of quality goods and supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

KEY ROLES

•Manage beneficiary identification, recording, organization, sensitization etc.

•Manage distributions of humanitarian aid to the identified beneficiaries.

•Prepare annual/quarterly work-plan, ‘budgets, and annual/quarterly reports and other reports such as distribution reports as may be needed from time to time.

•Conduct regular monitoring, evaluation and documentation of lessons for sharing with Key staffs

•Support and supervise CIDI staff and volunteers involved in conducting humanitarian work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Food Science and other related fields. Specific training in delivery of humanitarian services in an added advantage.

Community Mobilization, Sensitization, good analytical and arithmetic skills, project planning and management, knowledge of organization and delivering relief, food and nonfood items, crowd management, gender analysis, vulnerability Assessment Skills etc.

Community Integrated Development Initiatives – CIDI is a nationally registered NGO that currently operates in 25 districts of Uganda. CIDI has been operating in Uganda since 1996, and has head offices located on plot 2809 Tank Hill Road Muyenga, Kampala. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

 

To provide business leadership and coordination of the Credit Department and the Cesspool Trucks in order to optimize income generation and business development. Moreover, you will act as an active team member and actively promote the company culture and values. In return, you will gain valuable experience in long-term strategy planning and execution, negotiation, and play a pivotal role in setting the future direction of CIDI Business venture.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

•Directly manage and sell to a wide range of customers within the right scope of CIDI service portfolio in that given location and others as deem fit. 

•Act as the single and main contact for all accounts assigned to the portfolio, in respect to commercial activities of CIDI.

•Build and maintain relationships with as many key contacts/decision makers as possible and inside customers in the organization and enhance a long-lasting business partnership

•Include key CIDI personnel into the relationship to ensure that relationships run as deep as possible into both organizations

•Understand and translate the local needs of the Customers and share and engage within the CIDI organization

•Promote CIDI in the market place

•Be the “voice” of the customer identifying issues and addressing them throughout the organization in a proactive manner.

Together with the management team develop a marketing strategy and plan for CIDI.
